リエージュ: Guide

リエージュはベルギー東部の工業都市で、リエージュ州の州都である。表記はフランス語で Liège （1946年以前はLiége ）、ワロン語 Lîdje、オランダ語 Luik、ドイツ語 Lüttich 。

オランダおよびドイツとの国境に近く、マース川（ムーズ川）に臨む。人口185,574人、面積69.39 km²（2005年1月1日現在）で、リエージュ都市圏全体の人口は60万人ほど。交通の要衝で、ワロン地域圏の中心都市である。

産業としては特に製鉄業が盛ん。サッカーチームスタンダール・リエージュの本拠地。

中世にはリエージュ司教領の首都として栄えたため、古都とも呼ばれる。
